Undip Postgraduate School, September 19, 2024   The Master of Environmental Science (MIL) and Doctoral Program in Environmental Science (DIL) successfully held a public lecture with the theme “Climates Past, Present and Future: Adapting to Climate Change.” This event was attended by 70 participants online and 25 participants offline in the Master of Environmental Science Lecture Room, 3rd Floor of the Postgraduate Building.

This public lecture is part of a series of activities by Adjunct Professor Prof. Peter Gell from the Federation of Australia Universities which took place at Diponegoro University since September 8, 2024. This event was hosted by the moderator Prof. Dr. Tri Retnaningsih, S.MSc, and opened by the Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, ST, MSc, PhD, at exactly 10:00. The existence of the Dean who followed until the end of the presentation showed how important the theme discussed.

In his presentation, Prof. Gell explained in detail about climate change from a historical perspective to future projections. He also emphasized the importance of adaptation in dealing with the impacts of climate change, which is increasingly relevant to the global community today.

The event was closed with the giving of memories to Prof. Peter Gell as a sign of appreciation for his contribution, followed by a group photo session to capture the precious moment.

With the success of this public lecture, it is hoped that the participants can apply the knowledge gained in efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change, for a better future. click materi
