On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, a Zone-Based Waste Management Mentoring activity was held at the Atria Hotel in Magelang. Various stakeholders attended the event, including representatives from the Magelang Regency Regional Secretariat, the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), the Regional Research and Development Agency (Litbangda), the Magelang Regency Environmental Agency, and the industry sector, namely PT Tribalid Green Solution, represented by Mr. Trigo Neo Starden, Chief Executive Officer. Also in attendance were Mr. Setiadi and Mr. Sugino from PT Landasan Tata Laksana.

From the academic side, the Diponegoro University Graduate School was fully attended, including the Dean, Vice Deans I and II, managers, academic and financial supervisors, and the educational staff. The event opened with opening remarks by Dr. Fuad Muhammad, representing the Master of Environmental Science (MIL) Program.

In his remarks, Dr. Fuad stated that this mentoring activity represents a crucial opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Undip Graduate School and industrial partners in an effort to achieve better environmental management. The flooding problem, which has been caused by clogged drainage channels with waste, is the primary reason for the need for a zone-based waste management strategy. This approach is expected to prevent waste accumulation and increase the community’s role in maintaining a clean environment.
Through the collaboration of the Master of Environmental Science Study Program with the Business and Industry Sector (DUDI), specifically PT Tribalid Green Solution, it is hoped that an innovative, sustainable waste management system will be realized that is appropriate to the region’s characteristics.
The Dean of the Undip Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo, MSc., MM., PhD, also expressed his high appreciation for this activity. He hopes this collaboration will provide long-term benefits in developing a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment for Magelang Regency.

Remarks from Regional Government Representatives
Representatives from the Magelang Regency Regional Secretariat (Sekretariat Daerah) who were present apologized for the inability of the Regional Secretary, the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), and several Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) to attend due to the Korpri anniversary commemoration. On the same occasion, the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) and the Regional Research and Development Agency (Litbangda), representing the Magelang Regency Government, expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Diponegoro University (Undip) Postgraduate School and industrial partners for organizing this mentoring activity, a follow-up to the collaboration between the business and industry (DUDI) sector and the Master of Environmental Science program.
They also stated that the collaboration with PT Tribalid Green Solution had begun with the signing of an MoU, facilitated by the Master of Environmental Science program. Previously, the PT Tribalid delegation had even met directly with the Magelang Regent to discuss opportunities for technology-based waste management. The Magelang Regency expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to develop a more advanced and integrated waste management system.

Signing of the Cooperation Agreement
To conclude the series of activities, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Magelang Regency Government, the Business and Industry Sector (DUDI), and Diponegoro University. This signing marks the first step in implementing a zone-based waste management program, which is expected to be implemented soon in Magelang Regency.
