

Semarang, August 13, 2025 – To address the waste emergency in Pemalang Regency and Central Java Province, the Central Java Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD), Kalandra Nusantara, and the Pemalang Regency Government, in collaboration with the Graduate School of Diponegoro University, held a Dissemination of the Zone-Based Waste Management Model. The event took place at Building A of the UNDIP Graduate School on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
This activity served as a strategic forum for sharing ideas, experiences, and innovative solutions for integrated zone-based waste management, with the goal of creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.
The event featured various speakers, including:
– Mohammad Saleh – Deputy Speaker of the Central Java Provincial DPRD
– Anom Widiyantoro – Regent of Pemalang Regency
– Widi Hartanto – Head of the Central Java Provincial Environment and Forestry Agency
– Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Sc. – Rector of Diponegoro University
– Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D. – Dean of the Graduate School of Diponegoro University
The speakers emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in waste management, from policy development and regional planning to field implementation. The zone-based management model is expected to be a concrete solution to reduce waste volume, increase management efficiency, and encourage community participation in maintaining a clean environment.
