Semarang, 19 August 2024 – Diponegoro University’s Environmental Science Masters Study Program has successfully held matriculation activities for new students from 14 to 16 August 2024. This activity is an annual agenda designed to prepare new students for studying at the master’s level, as well as providing understanding basic information about today’s crucial environmental issues.
A total of 50 new students from various educational backgrounds participated in this matriculation enthusiastically. They received training from leading lecturers in the field of environmental science, such as Prof. Dr. Tri Retnaningsih, Dr. Fuad Muhammad, and Dr. Budi Warsito. These lecturers provide material that covers various important topics, such as climate change, natural resource management, environmental policy, and multidisciplinary approaches in solving environmental problems.
This activity is not only limited to classroom lecture sessions, but also involves group discussions, presentations, and case simulations that allow students to hone analytical and critical thinking skills. Apart from in-class activities, matriculation was also filled with a field visit which was held on August 19 2024. This visit involved traveling to three important locations that have high relevance to environmental science studies, namely Forest Areas with Special Purposes (KHDTK), PT Coca Cola , and Rawa Pening.
