SEMARANG – The Master of Environmental Science (MIL) Study Program at the Diponegoro University (Undip) Graduate School held a two-day Matriculation Lecture on Thursday and Friday, August 20-21, 2025. Held in the MIL Lecture Hall, Postgraduate Building A, 4th Floor, this activity was mandatory for all new students to ensure a common understanding of the fundamentals of environmental science.
The matriculation lecture is a crucial routine event, given that the Undip Graduate School is a multidisciplinary program. Students come from diverse academic backgrounds, thus ensuring a common understanding of the fundamentals of science to support their studies.
Over two days, students were provided with a variety of essential materials, including an Introduction to the Program and Curriculum, an Explanation of Course Administration, an Introduction to Environmental Science and Sustainable Development, Environmental Issues in Development, Environmental Management and Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management Policy, the Social Dimensions of Sustainable Environments, and the Fundamentals of Environmental Management & Planning.
These materials were delivered directly by leading environmental experts, including Prof. Sudharto P. Hadi, MES, PhD, Dr. Dwi P. Sasongko, and Dr. Eng. Maryono, who are experts in the field of waste management. This matriculation course is expected to provide a strong foundation for new students to begin their academic journey in environmental science.
