The Master of Environmental Science Study Program held a curriculum workshop on Wednesday, April 24 2024 at the Ibis Style Simpang Lima Hotel, Semarang. This event was attended by a number of lecturers, students and experts in the field of environmental science.
The workshop aims to evaluate and perfect the existing curriculum, as well as discussing the preparation of Semester Learning Plans (RPS) and Tuition Contracts.
The workshop began with the submission of a report and at the same time opened the workshop event on behalf of the Dean of the Postgraduate School who was unable to attend because it coincided with the 174th Period Graduation activities, which were delivered by Dr. Eng. Maryono, ST., MT Head of the Environmental Science Master’s Study Program.
The first agenda is the presentation of material on “Environmental Management Challenges Living in the Future” by Prof. Drs Sudharto P.Hadi, MES, PhD. The second resource person, Prof. Dr. Ir Purwanto, DEA explained material regarding “Evaluation of the Master of Environmental Science Curriculum”. Meanwhile the third resource person, Prof. Dr. Prabang Setyono S .Si., M.Si, who is also one of the lecturers at the Master of Environmental Science Study Program at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) discussed “Outline of Content for Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral Courses in Environmental Science”. The material delivery session was guided by the moderator, Ferry Hermawan , ST, MSc, PhD, who guided the discussions and question and answer sessions well so that workshop participants could participate actively in each session.
The next agenda is the preparation of the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) and Tuition Contract. In this session, lecturers and the curriculum team work together to prepare RPS and prepare Tuition Contracts to ensure that each course has evaluation standards and meets student needs. It is hoped that this workshop can be a good first step in efforts to improve the quality of education in the Master of Environmental Science Study Program.
